Abstract
Abstract

After training in assertiveness, individuals gain a positive attitude about themselves and their past lives. By using assertiveness skills, they gain the ability and capacity to manage and control the complex requirements of everyday life, and based on this, it can be assumed that their interpersonal relationships will be of high quality. They become optimistic about the future because assertive behavior helps them to enjoy their lives and relationships with others and to cope with negative emotions such as sadness, anger, worry, and psychological pressures in an adaptive manner. They set goals for their lives, develop their life plans based on those goals, accept challenges in order to achieve those goals, and become interested in work and activities. Therefore, participating in the assertiveness skills training program helps low-income individuals to achieve the necessary self-knowledge and use assertive behaviors in interactive situations with others in a real and natural way, and eliminates the lack of social skills that are associated with numerous problems in adapting to the surrounding environment, and as a result, increases their social adaptability. In addition, improving effective and constructive communication in interpersonal relationships is one of the desired outcomes of assertiveness training, which leads to the emergence of adapted behaviors.
