The effect of meaning therapy in reducing the dimensions of anxiety and depression in high school girls

Abstract
Emotional problems of girls during adolescence reach their peak along with mental and physical changes that occur in adolescence. This research was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of meaning therapy in reducing the emotional problems of high school girls in Sirjan city. The current study was a quasi-experimental type. The statistical population included all high school girls in Yazd city. A statistical sample of 30 students who were selected by random cluster sampling method, and were trained in 8 sessions of 60 minutes. Data was collected by depression and anxiety questionnaire. The data were analyzed by the statistical method of analysis of covariance, and the results showed that meaning therapy has an effect in reducing depression in high school girls of Sirjan city (P<0.05). Meaning therapy is effective in reducing depression in high school girls of Sirjan city. Meaning therapy is effective in reducing the anxiety of high school girls in Sirjan city (P<0.05).
