چکیده English

Abstract

In addition to problems in cognitive functions such as attention, children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder have problems in communication and empathy with others. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of filial therapy training on increasing empathy and attention of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The statistical population included all male children suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in the first grade of elementary school in Isfahan city, from which 45 students were selected using non-random sampling, who were divided into three groups of 15 students. Test, control and drug therapy were included.Achenbach's (2007) behavioral inventory questionnaires and Aoyong's children's empathy test (2009) were used as research tools. To analyze the data, univariate analysis of covariance statistical test was used. The results showed that filial therapy was effective in improving and increasing empathy (F=489.11, p<0.001) and attention (F=0.05, F=6.064). Therefore, according to the results of the current research and the effect of filial therapy training on children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in terms of increasing attention and empathy, this training can be used significantly to improve their educational process and social relations.
